The Japanese word Aomi (青み) refers to a subtle hint or nuance of blue. That gentle feeling is reflected in the glaze, where misty blue-grey tones flow into warm cream, earthy brown and expressive dark markings.
The softly rounded shape rests comfortably in the hands, while the organic rim and layered glaze give the bowl its unmistakable wabi-sabi character. Look closely and the surface begins to resemble a small landscape — water, stone and grasses merging naturally through the movement of the glaze.
